NH10 scores big

By Filmfare

NH10, despite a slow start, has been able to notch up high figures on its first weekend.

While the collections on the morning of the release were low, the film picked up pace in the evening, earning Rs. 3.35 crore. There was a jump by 30% on Saturday as the film collected Rs. 4.50 crore. The earnings continued to grow as the film made Rs. 5.20 crore on Sunday.
The collective earnings of NH10 on its first weekend stand at Rs. 13.05 crore. The collections were big only the metros and cosmopolitan cities, but they remained poor in the mass centers like Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Going by the trends, the film should do steady business over the coming week and look to earn Rs. 9-10 crore on the weekdays.
Dum Laga Ke Haisha, in its third week now, stood its ground at the box office despite competition from NH10.
The film dropped mildly on Friday, collecting Rs. 62 lakhs, but earnings rose again on Saturday, making Rs. 74 lakhs in the process. Facing another jump on Sunday, the film earned Rs. 88 lakhs, bringing the weekend’s total earnings to Rs. 2.24 crore.
Both films faced a slight backlash in terms of earning, owing to the cricket matches over the weekend, making weekday earnings crucial to box office success.
