PK is an All Time Blockbuster

Aamir Khan’s December bonanza, PK has lived up to the expectations and continues to perform exceptionally well in the Indian domain as well as on international waters. After creating havoc in week one by banking a sum of Rs. 182.58 crore and becoming the 2nd highest week one grosser after Dhoom 3, the film enjoyed a magnificent second weekend by setting yet another record.

It managed a collection of Rs. 14.44 crore on its second Friday and witnessed a growth in the occupancy by 25% and 30% on Saturday (Rs. 17.20 crore) and Sunday  (Rs. 22.15 crore) respectively. Thus, setting a record of the highest ever second weekend collection with total of Rs. 53.79 crore made over it.

This massive weekend collection has beaten previous 2nd weekend collections of films like Krissh 3 (39.74 crore), Dhoom 3 (38.85 crore), Salman Khan’s 2014 release Kick (34.02 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year (22.23 crore).
 
So far, PK has minted a total of Rs. 236 crore in the domestic domain in just 10 days from its release and has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Kick and Happy New Year.

The film has also banked Rs. 90 crore approx in various international markets and has made a sum of Rs. 325 crore worldwide. Trade pundits have predicted that it’s not long, that the film will cross the extraordinary 300 crore in the domestic market as well.

And the coming New Year holidays look promising enough for PK to continue its strong hold. Well, as far as the box office is concerned, looks like 2014 is going to end with a bang.

1st Week Total Collection – Rs. 182.58 crore approximately
2nd Weekend Total Collection – Rs. 53. 79 crore approximately
Total Domestic Collection – Rs. 236.37 crore approximately
Total Overseas Collection – Rs. 89.50 crore approximately
Total Worldwide Collection – Rs. 325.87 crore approximately
